Councillor Resignation – Morag Robertson

St Ives Town Council will be advertising a casual vacancy in the St Ives East Ward following the resignation, for personal reasons, of Morag Robertson as a town councillor.

The Mayor, Councillor Linda Taylor, said that it was with regret that the resignation had been received as Morag Robertson had demonstrated enthusiasm, integrity and commitment whilst serving on the town council since being elected in May 2013, bringing new ideas to the council, readily volunteering to take up issues, and working alongside fellow town councillors to make a positive difference to the parish.  Morag’s valued contribution to the town council will be missed, although we are sure that her contribution to the community will continue in other ways.

Once the notices of the casual vacancy have been published, there will be a period of 14 working days which electors may choose to call for election.  If called by 10 electors, than an election will  be held, otherwise the town council may co-opt someone to fill the vacancy.
