Councillor Resignation – Paul Douglass

St Ives Town Council are advertising a casual vacancy in the Lelant & Carbis Bay Ward following the resignation, due to other work commitments, of Paul Douglass as a town councillor.

The Mayor, Councillor Linda Taylor, said that it was a difficult decision that Paul has made, but his commitment to the village where he lives, allowed him to put the electors of Lelant & Carbis Bay first, and the importance of  them being  represented, I thank him for his support whilst he has served on the town council, and wish him well in his new career.

The notices of casual vacancy have been published on 1 December, following which there will be a period of 14 working days during which electors may choose to call for an election.  If called by 10 electors, then an election will be held, otherwise the town council may co-opt someone to fill the vacancy.
