Councillor resignation – Norman Laity

Norman Laity has tendered his resignation as a town councillor and so there is a second vacancy in the St Ives East ward.  A notice of casual vacancy was published on 2 December, giving electors the opportunity until 22 December to notify the Elections Office if they wish to call for an election.  If no election is called, then the town council may fill this seat by co-opting a suitable person.

Norman Laity served on the town council since July 2010 and before that served for a number of years on the former Penwith District Council.  Recognised for his valued input into the work of the council, he was able to draw on his lifelong knowledge of St Ives, the working of the harbour and his property management experience to help inform the decisions and actions of the council.
